Sick Leave for COVID-19

The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA or Act) provides certain employees with paid sick leave for specified reasons related to COVID-19.  The sick leave may be up to 80 hours of time off if an employee is unable to work due to being quarantined (pursuant to Federal, State, or local government order or advice of a health care provider), and/or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms and seeking a medical diagnosis.  You may also take Sick Leave if you are caring for someone with COVID-19 or a child whose school has been closed.  (NOTE:  A regional “shelter in place” order would not be reason for sick leave.)  More details can be found HERE on the Department of Labor website. including qualifying reasons for taking leave and rate of pay during the leave.
